My Beloved Juan is a classic mid-century drama-comedy that upholds traditional social structures. While Eloísa briefly exhibits independence through her scientific work, the story ultimately reinforces traditional gender roles. The film lacks multi-layered complexity, focusing instead on a romanticized struggle for stability within a homogeneous social framework. Overall, it presents a narrow view of identity, adhering to the conventions of 1950s cinema.
