New Showbiz Analysis

In the Folds of the Flesh is a standard genre piece that prioritizes suspense and individual criminality over social commentary. It follows the established stylistic traditions of 1970s Italian psychological thrillers and horror. The film does not intentionally explore multi-layered narratives or challenge systemic power structures. Most character roles adhere to conventional clichés of the era rather than subverting social hierarchies. While the female character shows a degree of autonomy, the overall framework remains narrow, focusing on a localized conflict between a male protagonist and a female figure.
