New Showbiz Analysis

Hansan: Rising Dragon is a traditional historical epic that prioritizes nationalistic narrative architecture and military strategy. It functions as a study of leadership and tactical brilliance during the Imjin War, adhering closely to the historical realities of the Joseon dynasty. The film's creative direction focuses on the glorification of historical leadership and the effectiveness of established military institutions. By adhering to 16th-century social hierarchies, the narrative avoids challenging power dynamics, instead presenting a story of duty and state preservation. Ultimately, the work prioritizes historical fidelity and nationalist sentiment over disrupting contemporary social norms.
