AI Analysis
Vengeance operates as a traditional genre piece, leaning heavily on established horror and action tropes. The story is driven by a cycle of moral debt and familial retribution, which keeps the narrative focused on conventional conflict rather than social deconstruction. While the film offers a necessary non-Western lens by centering a Southeast Asian setting and cast, it does not use this platform to challenge systemic hierarchies. The characters appear to function within standard roles defined by the pursuit and the supernatural elements of the forest. Ultimately, the film provides regional representation but lacks the intersectional complexity or character-driven subversion required for a higher diversity rating.
