Anja Breien’s work serves as a long-term study of female empowerment. By shifting focus from the home to independent female spaces, the film challenges traditional family structures. It successfully de-emphasizes the traditional patriarchal family setup. While the film excels in undermining gender norms and critiquing cultural institutions, it is constrained by its historical and geographical context. The absence of racial diversity and specific LGBTQ+ identifiers limits its overall impact. Overall, the film purposefully challenges traditional domestic norms, emphasizing women's autonomy over holiday traditions.

Official Synopsis
Ten years have passed since our three heroines' first outing in 1975. Now the women meet at yet another class reunion. Not surprisingly, they are still unwilling to call it a night after the party is over. Husbands and children must celebrate Christmas as best they can, while the women spend quality time drinking and taking stock of their lives.
