Soaked in Bleach is a specialized investigative documentary that prioritizes the deconstruction of institutional narratives over demographic representation. It functions as a forensic examination of a high-profile historical event, specifically challenging the official state narrative regarding Kurt Cobain's death. The film's strength lies in its critical examination of authority, questioning the intersection of law enforcement and media complicity. However, its narrow investigative scope results in a lack of focus on multi-layered issues related to race, gender, and LGBTQ+ identities. Ultimately, the work is less a study of social identity and more an exploration of systemic opacity and the fragility of official historical records.

Official Synopsis
Twenty years ago, Kurt Cobain was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The world was told it was a suicide, but evidence would lead many people to believe it might be otherwise. The film investigates the possibilities that exist that Kurt Cobain's death might not have been a suicide, that the Seattle Police Department rushed their verdict, and the global media perpetuated lies and misinformation fed to them by Courtney Love that created the belief in many that Cobain killed himself—but when revealed to be lies—lead many to now question what happened.
