New Showbiz Analysis

Ghost Light operates within the standard conventions of the horror and thriller genres. The narrative is a character study of an individual's psychological descent, which prioritizes personal obsession over systemic or sociological exploration. While the cast offers some racial diversity through performers like Sallieu Sesay, the storytelling remains centered on a dominant male figure. The film does not appear to intentionally disrupt social hierarchies or provide complex representations of multiple aspects of identity. Ultimately, the representation present feels incidental to the plot. The film functions as a traditional genre piece rather than a vehicle for progressive social critique or diverse identity exploration.
