The film is a traditional adventure piece that adheres to the era's cinematic conventions. While the global settings offer a baseline of ethnic variety, the narrative remains rooted in a Western-centric viewpoint. Character dynamics adhere to traditional hierarchies, especially concerning gender and disability. The emphasis on physical heroism and clear-cut morality prevents a deeper exploration of systemic power or diverse identities. Ultimately, the production prioritizes genre-driven action and historical atmosphere over challenging social norms or representing underrepresented perspectives.
