To Her functions as a traditional character study rooted in specific cultural and familial frameworks. It relies on established romantic clichés and kinship tensions rather than disrupting social hierarchies. The film lacks complexity in reflecting multiple aspects of identity, focusing instead on a narrow narrative lens. While it provides a culturally specific East Asian setting, it does not push beyond conventional social norms. Ultimately, the production prioritizes a singular perspective of attraction and family duty over the inclusion of diverse identities or systemic challenges.
