Synopsis

Batman & Jesus is a documentary film investigating the historicity of a Jesus of Nazareth. By tracing the origins of Jewish and Christian mythology and using the contemporary example of Batman, among other pop culture heroes, the film will illustrate the evolution of mythology over time, as well as demonstrate how canonizing the gospels of the Bible would have been comparable to trying to canonize the Batman series today.

AI Analysis

Batman & Jesus functions as a comparative study between historical evidence and modern mythology. It interrogates the construction of truth by placing a religious figure alongside a secular pop-culture archetype. The film leans heavily into the deconstruction of cultural and religious frameworks. While it lacks explicit intersectional identity representation, it achieves a progressive score through its thematic focus on intellectual skepticism. Ultimately, the work favors a secular and analytical worldview. It prioritizes the dismantling of traditionalist certainties over the promotion of singular religious morality.
