The film adheres to the conventions of 1970s genre pieces, emphasizing espionage and military duty. It prioritizes traditional gender roles and power structures over progressive social commentary. Representation is limited by the era's standards. The narrative centers on male-driven political conflicts, using women primarily through gendered archetypes common to the period's action cinema. Ultimately, the work focuses on internal European power struggles. It lacks intentional efforts to disrupt social hierarchies or include diverse racial or identity-based perspectives.
