This Pre-Code comedy serves as a historical snapshot of early 20th-century commerce. It focuses on the narrative of self-made men and the effectiveness of the marketplace, reinforcing existing social structures without challenging them. The film's structure is based on traditional hierarchies. While it offers clever wit, it does not expand on demographic diversity or provide systemic critiques, concentrating instead on individual achievement and professional strategies. Overall, the film presents a culturally singular world centered around the American business class, reflective of 1931 studio productions.
