Synopsis

Two smart city girls, Angelica (12) and Lone (9), are sent on summer vacation to stay with a couple of distant old relatives in an even more distant part of Jutland. The neighbors on the large pig farm are trying to get the two old people into a nursing home so they can take over the land. The girls don't like this, so they take up the fight to help their aging hosts.

AI Analysis

Send Mere Slik is a localized family drama that finds its strength in character agency rather than broad demographic representation. The film succeeds in subverting traditional hierarchies by placing the narrative's momentum in the hands of two young girls who actively fight for their elders. However, the film remains rooted in a very specific, homogeneous cultural setting. The lack of racial, ethnic, or LGBTQ+ diversity limits its intersectional breadth, making it a specialized regional narrative rather than a diverse tapestry. Ultimately, while the film empowers its female leads, it lacks the variety of identities needed to achieve a higher score in modern inclusive storytelling.
