Synopsis

The screen takes up a lot of space in the Krumborg family's everyday life. Mom thinks the family should get closer, so Krumme suggests a screen-free week, because that way Krumme can get rid of his old crappy cell phone. Mom thinks it's a good idea, Dad does what Mom says, and Grunk just plans to cheat. But what are they supposed to do? Krumme finds some old Kim books in the attic, which he devours, and he is inspired to start his own detective agency with his friend Tom. When the criminals, Tina and Jeff, steal the Anastasia diamond from the National Museum, Krumme sees his chance: to catch the criminals and win Yrsa's heart. But it's not as easy as in the Kim books, because it's hard to be 11 years old when you also want to win Yrsa's love.

While the mother holds significant domestic agency, the plot remains driven by masculine-coded detective tropes. Women primarily serve as romantic objectives or domestic anchors.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Limited

Religious & Cultural Diversity

  • It provides a relatable critique of modern technology through the concept of a screen-free week.

Areas for Improvement

  • The narrative lacks racial and ethnic diversity, presenting a very homogeneous social environment.
  • Gender roles remain largely traditional, with female characters often relegated to domestic or romantic roles.
  • The story follows conventional heteronormative romantic tropes without exploring diverse identities.

AI Analysis

The film operates as a traditional family comedy, leaning heavily into established genre tropes like the juvenile detective mystery. It prioritizes a localized, culturally specific Danish setting that reinforces conventional social structures. Narratively, the film maintains a standard heteronormative framework and a homogeneous demographic. It lacks the intersectional complexity or systemic subversion required to move beyond traditional storytelling patterns. Ultimately, the work functions as a safe, genre-driven experience that focuses on domestic cohesion and classic adventure rather than social or cultural disruption.
