New Showbiz Analysis

Bigas Luna’s *Angustia* is a postmodern film that deconstructs traditional storytelling by focusing on psychological fragmentation. It challenges objective truth by merging the film crew’s reality with the horror narrative. However, the film’s complexity is more about form than social issues. It lacks diverse representations and focuses on a claustrophobic breakdown of its main characters. While it subverts traditional hierarchies, it remains limited in its portrayal of diverse identities, using psychological instability to drive its horror premise.
