New Showbiz Analysis

The film functions as a conventional period drama that adheres to the traditional cinematic structures of 1971. It focuses on the tension between lawlessness and order in the 19th-century frontier, rather than subverting social norms. While the narrative offers some nuance regarding the morality of outlaws, it maintains a standard hierarchical structure. The creative direction reinforces existing social and cultural expectations of the setting rather than challenging systemic power dynamics. Ultimately, the production reflects the historical constraints of its era, resulting in a homogeneous cast and a lack of diverse representation.
