The film is a period comedy that relies on traditional social hierarchies and biological imperatives to advance its plot. While it challenges the stereotype of the passive mourning widow, it does so within the confines of patriarchal lineage and legal structures. Character development is limited to conventional gender roles, as ability to act is tied to reproductive necessities. The film serves primarily as a commercial comedy of its time rather than a vehicle for social deconstruction. Overall, the film lacks multi-layered depth, focusing instead on the pragmatic pursuit of wealth through established societal mechanisms.
