New Showbiz Analysis

The film functions as a genre-driven horror piece that challenges traditional gender power dynamics. By making the female lead the primary driver of the plot and diminishing the male figure’s traditional dominance, it subverts conventional masculine expectations. However, the film lacks broader social diversity. Its focus on a central heterosexual conflict without addressing racial, LGBTQ+, or disability representation prevents a more inclusive score. Ultimately, while the film disrupts specific gendered expectations, it does not address broader social hierarchies.
