Act of Grace is a social realist drama that explores racial tension to highlight empathy and individual ability to act. By centering a underrepresented perspective, it rewards moral courage in the face of bullying. However, the film lacks representation of LGBTQ+ identities and disabilities, limiting its broader social scope. The film's primary strength lies in its exploration of interracial friendship as a catalyst for social change and its focus on empathy and moral courage. However, it falls short in representing broader institutional or systemic critiques beyond school-based bullying.
