New Showbiz Analysis

Jesús Franco’s film disrupts traditional gender hierarchies and conventional moralities by centering female sexual autonomy. It uses a narrative of liberation to challenge the rigidity of Western marital institutions. However, the film lacks significant racial or LGBTQ+ representation. The exploration of non-traditional arrangements remains strictly within a homogenous and heterosexual social context. Ultimately, the work functions as a deconstruction of social taboos rather than an exploration of diverse identity politics.
