AI Analysis
For Richer or Poorer is a standard late-90s romantic comedy that prioritizes genre tropes over social diversity. The narrative centers on a wealthy couple's transition from high-society New York to an Amish community, a shift used mainly for situational comedy. The film lacks intersectional representation, relying on a predominantly white cast and a heteronormative romantic structure. It functions as a traditional piece of studio storytelling that reflects the demographic norms of its era. Ultimately, the film avoids challenging established social hierarchies or exploring marginalized identities, focusing instead on personal reconnection through class-based disruption.
