Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Minimal

The film centers on a traditional heteronormative relationship between Jake and his ex-girlfriend, Alex. There is no evidence of non-cisnormative identities or same-sex intimacy.

Gender Representation

Fair

The story is driven by a male protagonist, with Alex serving as a partner in the investigation. Her role appears largely reactive to the central crisis.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Minimal

The narrative provides no specific details regarding the racial or ethnic composition of the townspeople. Consequently, the presence of non-white characters remains unverified.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Limited

The plot follows a standard survivalist trajectory focused on preserving social order. It lacks explicit systemic critiques or diverse cultural perspectives.

Disability Representation

Minimal

The focus remains on a parasitic infection and physical transformation. There is no mention of neurodivergence or characters with disabilities portrayed with agency.

Strengths

  • The film establishes a clear, high-stakes survivalist conflict through its central parasitic infection premise.

Areas for Improvement

  • The narrative relies on conventional gender roles, with the female lead appearing primarily reactive to the male protagonist's journey.
  • The film lacks representation of LGBTQ+ identities or non-cisnormative characters.
  • There is a notable absence of racial, ethnic, or disability-related diversity within the character descriptions.

AI Analysis

Zombie Town operates as a conventional horror piece that adheres strictly to established genre tropes. The narrative architecture prioritizes a survivalist plot and a central heteronormative dynamic, offering little in the way of intersectional character development. While the film establishes a clear central conflict, it lacks the complexity required to subvert traditional hierarchies. The characters function primarily as vessels for the survivalist tension rather than as nuanced representatives of diverse identities. Ultimately, the film lacks the systemic critique or diverse casting necessary to move beyond a standard, narrow genre framework.
