Synopsis

The young and aspiring writer, Rikke, heads out to the old and abandoned parental house in the remote Norwegian countryside. A girl, not even particularly beautiful one, all alone in a town full of sexually deviant yokels, that's just asking for trouble. After a couple of tense and unsettling encounters, three dimwits rape the poor girl and she plots an excruciatingly painful vengeance for all of them.

Diversity & Representation

Overall Score

4.6/10

Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Limited

The film lacks explicit depictions of LGBTQ+ identities or non-cisnormative gender expressions. It focuses on sexual violence within a traditional social framework without exploring queer subtext.

Gender Representation

Fair

Rikke serves as a central female protagonist who transitions from a vulnerable victim to an active agent of vengeance. While this disrupts some hierarchies, the film leans heavily into predatory masculinity.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Minimal

Set in the remote Norwegian countryside, the story implies a homogeneous social environment. There is no evidence of racial blending or a non-white cast within this localized setting.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Good

The narrative explores complex, situational ethics by framing vengeance as a response to systemic trauma. It critiques localized social structures through its portrayal of a deviant community.

Disability Representation

Minimal

There is no information available regarding the inclusion of characters with visible or invisible disabilities, neurodivergence, or chronic illness.

Strengths

  • The protagonist's journey from victimhood to active agency provides a strong subversion of traditional gender hierarchies.

Areas for Improvement

  • The film lacks racial and LGBTQ+ diversity, remaining confined to a homogeneous social environment.
  • There is no representation of disability or neurodivergence within the character arcs.

AI Analysis

The film offers a focused character study centered on female agency and the reclamation of power following trauma. This provides a moderate boost to gender-based empowerment metrics. However, the narrative is extremely narrow in its scope. It operates within a localized, ethnically singular framework that lacks intersectional breadth, particularly regarding racial and LGBTQ+ identities. Ultimately, the film functions as a specific, localized drama rather than a diverse or inclusive systemic narrative, resulting in a low overall score.
