New Showbiz Analysis

Anne-Sophie Bailly’s drama stands out by focusing on the emotional experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Instead of using disability as a mere plot device, the film treats it as a core part of the characters’ lives and relationships. The film excels in its nuanced depiction of disability and its critique of traditional family structures. It moves beyond idealized family portrayals to explore the tension between caregiving and personal freedom. However, the narrative lacks clear evidence of racial diversity or specific LGBTQ representation, despite exploring non-traditional relationships.
