Street of Fury is a conventional crime action film that prioritizes fast-paced storytelling and traditional masculine archetypes. The narrative structure relies heavily on established genre clichés, focusing on brotherhood and underworld hierarchies. While the film touches on systemic struggles like poverty in the Nam Tin housing project, it frames these issues through the lens of vigilantism. This approach reinforces traditional power dynamics rather than offering a nuanced social critique. Ultimately, the film lacks the intentionality to disrupt conventional expectations regarding gender, sexuality, or identity, functioning instead as a standard piece of regional genre cinema.
