Running Through Darkness is a genre-driven crime thriller that emphasizes moral dilemmas over diverse representation. While it challenges some gender clichés, the scope of character development remains limited. The film's primary strength lies in its portrayal of the female victim as an active architect of the protagonist's moral decline, which adds a layer of ability to act often missing in crime dramas. However, the film lacks broad representation, particularly concerning LGBTQ+ identities and racial diversity. Physical trauma is used primarily as a plot device rather than a means to explore the complexities of disability.
