Areas for Improvement

  • Lacks LGBTQ+ representation and challenges to heteronormative structures.

  • Fails to offer systemic critiques, focusing instead on individualistic vengeance.

AI Analysis

Cheetah is a standard 1990s action-drama that relies heavily on established genre tropes. The story follows a singular male hero on a path of retribution, which limits the scope of representation. While the film provides a non-Western perspective, it does not attempt to subvert social hierarchies or introduce intersectional identities. The focus remains on individualistic heroism and traditional moral structures. Ultimately, the film functions as a conventional melodrama. It lacks the intentionality needed to provide nuanced or diverse perspectives beyond the standard commercial framework of its era.
