Cold Sweat functions as a conventional 1990s thriller, emphasizing genre clichés over social subversion. The narrative structure relies on established themes of guilt, infidelity, and domestic disruption rather than exploring multi-layered depth. The film centers on a male-centric psychological struggle. While female characters significantly complicate the plot, they operate within a framework that reinforces traditional social hierarchies. Overall, the work lacks the intentionality necessary to challenge demographic norms. It reflects the homogeneous casting and social structures typical of the era's thriller genre.
