New Showbiz Analysis

Deceitful Dating operates as a typical domestic thriller, emphasizing interpersonal mystery over broader social commentary. The plot follows a conventional family structure that lacks depth in representing multiple aspects of identity. The narrative leans heavily on established genre clichés, such as the mysterious neighbor, which limits its ability to challenge social hierarchies. While women are central to the tension, their roles remain within traditional genre boundaries. Overall, the film focuses on individual moral ambiguity without engaging with systemic critiques or providing representation for underrepresented identities, resulting in a conventional viewing experience.
