New Showbiz Analysis

The film breaks from typical white-centric sci-fi clichés by centering a actively leading protagonist of color. However, it adheres closely to established cinematic conventions. The narrative structure relies on traditional gender dynamics and lacks depth in exploring multiple aspects of identity. While the setting and lead character offer inclusion, the film operates primarily as a standard action-thriller without expanding the spectrum of identity or systemic critique. The film disrupts white-centric heroism by featuring a protagonist of color in a actively leading role. However, it maintains traditional masculine leadership roles and conventional gender dynamics, lacking multi-layered depth and explicit representation of LGBTQ+ identities.
