Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film lacks prominent LGBTQ+ characters or explorations of non-cisnormative identities. Interpersonal dynamics focus on heteronormative survivalist bonds without queer subtext.
Gender Representation
Cassandra holds significant narrative importance as a clairvoyant with vital agency. The film avoids the damsel in distress trope by granting female leads high-stakes roles.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The cast is predominantly white, reflecting the urban setting. The narrative lacks diverse ethnic backgrounds, resulting in a relatively homogeneous demographic tapestry.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The story critiques institutional overreach by framing the government as a predatory entity. This anti-authoritarian framework portrays Western state institutions as inherently oppressive.
Disability Representation
Psychic abilities serve as a metaphor for neurodivergence and social marginalization. However, these traits function more as plot devices than nuanced explorations of lived experience.

AI Analysis
Push is a genre-driven conspiracy thriller that finds its strength in its anti-authoritarian themes and the functional agency of its female characters. By positioning the state as a dehumanizing force, the film offers a meaningful critique of systemic corruption and institutional overreach. However, the film remains limited by traditional Western cinematic norms. The casting is largely homogeneous, and the narrative lacks significant intersectional depth, particularly regarding racial and LGBTQ+ representation. While the psychic elements provide a metaphor for being marginalized, the film prioritizes thriller mechanics over a deep exploration of neurodivergent identity or diverse social backgrounds.
