New Showbiz Analysis

The Harvesting functions mainly as a thriller that leverages cultural conflict as a key plot device. Although the casting hints at racial diversity, the storyline relies heavily on traditional horror clichés. The film’s most progressive aspect lies in its potential to question the sanctity of religious structures by depicting them as sources of external threat. However, it falls short in providing complex character development that addresses multiple forms of diversity. Overall, the film prioritizes suspense and the 'fish-out-of-water' scenario over nuanced social representation.
