Todo es silencio is a psychological character study that prioritizes atmospheric tension and systemic decay over diverse representation. Its primary strength lies in its nuanced, realistic portrayal of a protagonist navigating life without speech, avoiding the use of his disability as a mere plot device. However, the film remains anchored in a very specific, homogeneous Spanish coastal setting. This geographic focus results in a lack of racial and ethnic diversity, and the narrative does not engage with LGBTQ+ identities or challenge traditional gender roles. Ultimately, the film succeeds as a critique of local power structures and a study of isolation, but it operates within a traditional social framework that lacks demographic plurality.

The narrative explores familial dynamics and emotional labor. While it avoids aggressive masculine leadership by highlighting character vulnerability, it does not actively challenge traditional gender roles or reimagine gender hierarchies.
Set in a rural Atlantic coastal region of Spain, the film reflects a homogeneous demographic. The casting and context align with the geographic reality, resulting in a lack of racial diversity.
The film critiques systemic corruption by showing how smuggling and drug trafficking compromise local institutions. It presents a skeptical view of authority through the ubiquitous, shadow-like figure of Marshall.
