In this first-of-its-kind crossover comedy, director Ben Popik brings together five comedy writers, and surprises them with a challenge: to each write fifteen pages of a movie, having read only the previous five pages of the script. They agree with one stipulation: If they write the movie, he has to make it. It's a comedy, a love story, a psycho-sexual thriller, and a supernatural adventure all in one. Meanwhile, documentary footage of the writing process provides an inside look into the often-hilarious creative process, as well as the group dynamics that make collaboration between friends difficult.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film's scripted elements include a love story and a psycho-sexual thriller. While these genres allow for diverse romantic dynamics, there is no explicit confirmation of queer narratives.
Gender Representation
The cast features female performers like Megan Raye Manzi and Julia Rivas Frey. The experimental format allows writers to disrupt traditional gendered archetypes through unpredictable character arcs.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The ensemble includes names suggesting a multi-ethnic cast, such as Geoff Lee and Trevor Williams. However, the film lacks specific details regarding the ethnicities of the central protagonists.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The project subverts Western storytelling by using the surrealist 'Exquisite Corpse' method. This approach rejects linear Hollywood logic in favor of chaotic, non-traditional social structures.

AI Analysis
The Exquisite Corpse Project is a meta-documentary that prioritizes structural experimentation over traditional character-driven diversity. Its strength lies in its rejection of top-down studio hierarchies, favoring a communal, decentralized approach to authorship through the Olde English comedy group. While the cast appears multi-ethnic and includes women, the film lacks specific details regarding the intersectional identities of its characters. The diversity present is more a byproduct of its improvisational, chaotic format than a focused effort on systemic representation. Ultimately, the film's progressive value is found in its subversion of standard cinematic norms. It replaces polished, institutionalized storytelling with a subjective and argument-provoking collaborative process.
