Aroopi is a culturally specific horror film grounded in Indian mythology. The cast is entirely South Asian, and the story relies on traditional folklore involving a cursed ancestral home. The supernatural antagonist is female, providing a strong presence, but the human plot revolves around a male heir. There is no evidence of LGBTQ+ characters or disability representation in the available material. The film reinforces traditional cultural and spiritual frameworks rather than challenging them. Evidence is limited to the synopsis and cast list.
