Atıf Yılmaz’s *Mine* is a sophisticated exploration of female subjectivity within a patriarchal framework. By focusing on the protagonist's internal emotional landscape, the film challenges the rigid social hierarchies of its setting. The work effectively subverts traditional gender roles, highlighting the loneliness and misery inherent in traditional marital structures. It grants the female lead significant influence over the narrative. While the film authentically depicts Turkish social dynamics, it lacks broader diversity. It does not include explicit LGBTQ+ representation or multi-ethnic casting.
