Cops & Robbersons follows the well-established clichés of 1990s crime-comedy films. The narrative centers on the disruption of a stoic officer by a civilian family, prioritizing genre-standard tension over social complexity. The film does not intentionally explore perspectives that reflect multiple aspects of identity, lacking visible representation of queer identities, diverse racial backgrounds, or disabilities. It serves as a conventional piece of entertainment that aligns with the social norms of its time. Ultimately, the work does not seek to challenge institutional structures or traditional domestic or authority-based dynamics, resulting in a highly traditional and homogeneous viewing experience.
