AI Analysis

Reform School Girls functions as a genre-driven exploitation film that finds its strength in subverting traditional power hierarchies. By centering female agency and placing women in roles of both authority and rebellion, it disrupts conventional patriarchal structures. However, the film's impact is limited by a significant lack of intersectionality. The narrative remains narrow, failing to engage with racial, LGBTQ+, or disability-based identities, which keeps the social commentary surface-level. Ultimately, while the film offers a non-traditional gender dynamic, it remains a product of its era, prioritizing genre tropes over a diverse or nuanced social critique.
