New Showbiz Analysis

The film excels at deconstructing power dynamics by portraying underrepresented communities as active agents of resistance. It uses a high-tension thriller framework to explore the friction between state-sanctioned violence and socioeconomic survival. Its primary strength lies in the way race and class intersect, providing significant roles to characters of color. The narrative successfully challenges the legitimacy of traditional institutions by framing them as predatory forces. However, the film lacks depth in specific identity representations. It misses opportunities to explore LGBTQ+ identities or the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities, focusing instead on physical combat and survival.
