Ear protection and therapy are shown as part of his routine, grounding the condition in reality. The film’s cultural and racial texture is uneven but present. An Israeli criminal crew led by Uri adds specificity, and the cast includes performers of diverse backgrounds. Yet the narrative still orbits a white male protagonist, and women remain peripheral to the central heist storyline. LGBTQ+ representation is absent, and gender dynamics lean traditional. Ruthie is talented and ambitious, but her arc does not intersect meaningfully with the criminal plot. The film’s moral core—loyalty to a mentor and paying medical debt—feels conventional, tempering its more interesting formal choices.
