The film operates as a conventional science fiction thriller focused on external survival. The plot prioritizes high-stakes conflict against a malevolent force over exploring identity or social hierarchies. Since the narrative centers on a mercenary unit facing metaphysical threats, it adheres to standard genre conventions. There is a notable absence of diverse casting or systemic critiques. Ultimately, the film lacks the character-driven social commentary needed to move beyond a basic survivalist framework. It remains a genre-standard piece without progressive narrative structure.

Although the mercenary group could have diverse roles, there is no indication of challenging traditional gender roles. The film does not show women having significant control over their own stories.
The film does not confirm a predominantly non-white or non-Anglo-Saxon cast. The story follows the typical mercenary archetype, which often defaults to traditional casting practices.
Themes of mortality and existentialism are present, but there is no explicit critique of Western culture or systemic issues. The survivalist theme emphasizes individualism rather than cultural diversity.
