Half Empty Saddles is a product of mid-century animation, emphasizing slapstick humor and episodic comedy over social commentary. The narrative structure revolves around traditional Western clichés, focusing on a singular male hero's quest for wealth. The film operates within a very narrow demographic scope. By centering on a male-dominated conflict in a historically Eurocentric setting, it avoids any meaningful engagement with diverse identities or social hierarchies. Ultimately, the work functions as a standard genre piece. It provides little to no representation for women, diverse ethnicities, or the LGBTQ+ community, adhering strictly to the comedic standards of 1958.

Official Synopsis
Woody Woodpecker is wandering around the wild west again seeking to find some buried gold and he tangles with a crook who wishes to find the gold for himself. Woody finally disposes of the villain by shooting him into outer space via a rocket, another favorite method used by Woody to rid himself of whatever he wanted rid of at the moment. The horse steals the film.
