AI Analysis
League of Gods functions primarily as a traditional fantasy epic. While it offers a non-Western cultural perspective by centering Eastern folklore, it lacks the intentionality needed to challenge social structures. The film relies heavily on established mythological tropes. Characters like Daji and King Zhou follow predictable archetypes that reinforce conventional power dynamics rather than subverting them. Ultimately, the narrative prioritizes large-scale spectacle over intersectional depth. It provides a culturally distinct setting but fails to provide nuanced representation for marginalized identities.
