Arlette is a traditional comedic caper that prioritizes genre clichés over social intersectionality. The plot relies on a con-artist framework that deconstructs the stability of the American Dream and class distinctions. While the film lacks LGBTQ+ or racial diversity, it finds depth in its moral relativism. Characters operate outside conventional social respectability, using deception to navigate power dynamics. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its disruption of social hierarchies rather than its representation of underrepresented identities.
