Salvajes is a psychological thriller that uses a home invasion to explore the breakdown of social contracts. It goes beyond simple genre clichés to offer a sophisticated critique of systemic inequality and class conflict. The film's strength lies in its refusal to rely on traditional good-versus-evil binaries. By creating unusual familial ties between a victim and a thief, it examines how socioeconomic disparities shape human morality. However, the film lacks explicit representation for several underrepresented groups. There is no visible focus on LGBTQ+ identities or disability, leaving those narrative dimensions unexplored.

Gradually, the anger dissipates, and strange familial ties emerge that Arturo and Sonia believed were long gone. "Salvajes" is a violent portrayal of a divided society, in an unequal social fabric where the boundaries between victim and perpetrator become blurred.
