The film serves as a character-driven exploration of mid-century social norms, particularly by deconstructing traditional masculine archetypes. It centers on a protagonist who rejects hyper-masculinity in favor of emotional vulnerability and skill. However, the narrative remains confined to the demographic limitations of its 1960s setting. It lacks the broader multi-layered depth or intentional subversion needed to transcend traditional social frameworks. Ultimately, the story emphasizes individual resilience within a rigid hierarchy rather than actively dismantling that hierarchy through diverse representation.
