Everything Will Be Fine stands out as a progressive film from the late 90s independent cinema scene. It disrupts mainstream clichés by focusing on a complex, Afro-German queer protagonist. The narrative uses themes of queer relationships and professional ambition to build emotional engagement. By focusing on characters like Nabou and Kim, the film explores nuanced social positions and personal empowerment, moving away from traditional commercial formulas. While it does not address disability, its emphasis on non-traditional lifestyles and diverse identities sets it apart from mainstream offerings of the time.
