New Showbiz Analysis

The film primarily serves as a culturally specific historical mystery. It leverages its non-Western setting and regional folklore to potentially challenge social hierarchies. However, it lacks explicit representation of diverse identities such as LGBTQ+ themes, disabilities, or specific gender subversions. Consequently, while the setting provides a departure from Western norms, the narrative remains centered on traditional mystery and folk-horror clichés.
