New Showbiz Analysis

Crossing Over operates within the limited social and demographic boundaries of its time. The film uses a homogeneous cast without providing diverse ethnic or characters who reflect more than one aspect of diversity. Though the story offers a slight shift from traditional morality by showing criminal behavior as a survival tactic, it doesn't offer a deeper critique of societal structures. The exploration of gender remains focused on personal relationships rather than disrupting power hierarchies. Overall, the film doesn't intentionally include LGBTQ+ or disability representation, staying true to its specific cinematic context.
