New Showbiz Analysis

The film excels as a character study that uses a queer romantic connection to drive personal growth. By focusing on the relationship between Victoras and Mathias, the story moves beyond peripheral representation to make queer identity central to the plot. The production also offers a nuanced look at masculinity, moving away from traditional strong stereotypes to a more sensitive portrayal of the protagonist. The Mediterranean setting provides a refreshing departure from Anglo-centric narratives. However, the film's focus remains heavily centered on male emotional interiority. While it challenges masculine archetypes, the lack of visible female characters or broader racial casting details limits the scope of its diversity.
